Woo Sang-hyuk has become the first South Korean athlete to win the Diamond League Finals, a high jump competition reserved for the world’s strongest athletes, and has now “returned to gold,” boosting his chances of winning gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Confident after clearing a personal best of 2m35 this season, Woo’s eyes now turn to the Hangzhou Asian Games.

To win gold at the Asian Games, Woo will have to overcome the ‘world’s strongest man’, Qatar’s Barsim.

At his best this season, Barsim has a height of 2m36cm, narrowly edging out Woo’s 2m35cm.
