‘Son beat dad’ Pohang defeats Seongnam to reach FA Cup quarterfinals… ‘Lee Ho-jae 2 goals’
In a ‘father-son’ showdown, Pohang Steelers tasted victory after a brilliant performance by their son.
Pohang defeated Seongnam FC 3-0 behind two goals from Lee Ho-jae in the round of 16 of the 2023 Hana OneQ Korea Football Association (FA) Cup at Tancheon Sports Complex at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Pohang, who punched their ticket to the quarterfinals, will face the winner of Gimpo FC-Gangwon FC.

In the first minute, Shin Jae-won’s cross was blocked by the goalkeeper. Park Sang-hyuk’s next shot was blocked by the defense’s physical defense. Seongnam’s determination to catch up was strong. A minute later, Shin Jae-won headed in a cross from Kook Tae-jung. Goalkeeper Hwang In-jae made a fingertip save to deny the goal.
