Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr, took the first place as manager, not Jose Mourinho.

The American media ‘CBS Sports’ reported on the 14th (Korean time) that “Al-Nassr has fired Rudi Garcia.”

Al Nasr, who received a lot of attention due to Ronaldo’s joining, 스포츠토토made an official announcement on the official website on the 13th, “The club is parting ways with manager Rudy Garcia by mutual agreement. I would like to express my gratitude to him for working hard for the team for 8 months.”

It’s a decision that could be embarrassing enough considering Al-Nasr’s current situation. Al-Nasr (53 points), which is in second place after first place Al Itihad (56 points), has a good chance of competing for the championship this season with a difference of only 3 points.

Also, in a situation where the next game was against league rival and 4th place powerhouse Al-Hilal, he suddenly chose to part with the coach.

CBS Sports cited the problem with Ronaldo as the background for Garcia’s departure, saying, “It has been revealed that Ronaldo will exercise considerable powers, even before he arrives in Saudi Arabia, until he fires the manager.”

The news that Ronaldo recently collided with manager Garcia after a match with Alfaiha was reported through local media. It is known that Ronaldo expressed dissatisfaction with coach Garcia by pointing out the tactical part, and Garcia criticized the performance.

CBS Sports emphasized that Al-Nassr is aiming for a top European league coach after parting ways with coach Garcia.

“Al-Nasr aims to secure a key manager along with ambitions to expand Saudi league profile. News has revealed that the club made an initial verbal offer to Zidane, who has been unemployed since leaving Real Madrid. Ronaldo seems to be involved in this conversation as well.

Zidane left Real after the 2020/21 season and is still putting off taking over as manager. He was initially likely to be appointed to the French national team, but the situation was twisted when manager Didier Deschamps signed a renewal contract.

Coach Zidane led Real Madrid to win the European Football Federation (UEFA) Champions League three times, and at the time, he won all three championships with Ronaldo, so the relationship between the two is very deep. Al-Nasr seems to be aiming to sign Zidane with his protégé Ronaldo at the fore.

However, CBS Sports mentioned that Zidane’s joining was not certain despite Al Nasr’s courtship and Ronaldo’s intervention.

In addition to Zidane, another Ronaldo mentor, Mourinho, was also named as a candidate for Al Nasr’s manager.
