Na faltered in his start against KT Wiz in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Katie Wiz Park in Suwon on Nov. 21, allowing six runs on 10 hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings.
Na suffered his second loss of the season (6-2) as Lotte fell to 2-8 against KT. Na also saw his ERA jump from 2.65 to 3.14.
With their fifth straight loss against KT, Lotte suffered their 30th loss of the season (32 wins) and saw their win-loss margin drop to +2.
For Lotte, Na Gyun-ahn’s injury is more painful than the results.
Na struggled mightily in the bottom of the sixth inning, trailing 1-3. After walking the leadoff batter, Park Kyung-soo, he gave up an RBI triple to Hwang Jae-gyun and an RBI single to Choi Jae-dae.
Na Gyun-ahn, who threw 99 pitches, was pulled from the game with no outs and his right elbow was not feeling well.
“He felt discomfort in his elbow when he rotated his right arm and was replaced,” a Lotte official said, adding, “He plans to undergo a detailed examination at a hospital on the 22nd.”
