The Hanwha Eagles, looking to end a four-game losing streak at home, have a starting lineup aimed at Doosan Bears foreign pitcher Brandon Waddell.

Hanwha will face Brandon in the 13th game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against Doosan at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on April 11, with the batting order of Moon Hyun-bin (center fielder), Jung Eun-won (second baseman), Noh Shi-hwan (third baseman), Chae Eun-sung (designated hitter), Kim Tae-yeon (first baseman), Williams (left fielder), Lee Jin-young (right fielder), Choi Jae-hoon (catcher), and Oh Sun-jin (shortstop).

With the exception of Moon, Jung, and Williams, six of the nine starters are right-handed hitters. The team kept the Moon-Hyun-bin-Jung table-setter, who hasn’t had a bad week at the plate, and put Oh Sun-jin in center field and Lee Jin-young in right field.

“The Doosan starter is a left-hander, so Oh Sun-jin is playing shortstop and Lee Jin-young is playing right field,” Hanwha manager Choi Won-ho explained.

Oh hasn’t been bad against left-handed pitching this season, batting .250 (11-for-44) with five RBI and a .320 on-base percentage.

Lee has also struggled against right-handed pitching, batting .214 (28-for-131) with two home runs, but has been strong against lefties, batting .263 (15-for-57) with three home runs and a .900 OPS.

With Hanwha mired in a four-game losing streak after a 6-12 loss to the KT Wiz in Suwon on Sept. 9, the game will depend on the performance of right-handed hitters like Oh Sun-jin and Lee Jin-young.

The Hanwha bats will have to deal with Brandon, who has been one of the league’s best starting pitchers this season with a 4-2 record and 2.14 ERA in seven starts. He joined the Doosan organization in late June as a replacement for the injured Dylan Pyle, and has pitched consistently since then.

In his most recent outing, Brandon threw a seven-inning, four-hit shutout with one walk and eight strikeouts against KT on May 5, and has been one of the best pitchers in the league in the second half of the season.먹튀검증

Brandon did struggle against Hanwha once last year, giving up five runs on six hits, two walks, and four strikeouts in five innings. He was especially weak against Kim Tae-yeon, who went 2-for-3.

It will also be important to see how Han Seung-hyuk fares against Hanwha. Han has struggled since joining the starting rotation in mid-June, going 1-1 with a 5.85 ERA in seven games (six starts).
