Darvish Yu (San Diego Padres), the eldest member of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) team in Japan, confessed to the excessive interest.

Japan’s ‘Full Count’ reported an interview with Darvish who participated in the San Diego Padres Fan Fest on the 5th (Korean time). During the meeting, Darvish revealed his thoughts on his interest in the WBC team.

Darvish made his debut with the Nippon Ham Fighters in 2005, participated in 167 games over seven seasons in Japan Pro Baseball, recorded 93 wins, 38 losses, 1 hold, and an ERA of 1.99, then knocked on the door of the big leagues. He played for the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres, recording a 95-75 ERA with a 3.50 ERA over 10 seasons.

Darvish continued to appear in international competitions from the 2008 Beijing Olympics to the 2009 WBC during his Nippon Ham days. However, after he entered the major leagues, he never played for the Japanese national team.

WBC coach Hideki Kuriyama, who is aiming to win the WBC to be held in March, visited the United States during last season and began persuading players playing in the major leagues. In particular, coach Kuriyama did his best to change the mind of Darvish, who was passive about participating in international competitions, and decided to join the national team after 14 years.

Interest in the WBC is very hot in Japan. ‘Baseball Genius’ Shohei Ohtani (LA Dodgers) and Darvish, as well as major leaguers such as Seiya Suzuki (Chicago Cubs), Masataka Yoshida (Boston Red Sox), and Lars Nutba (St. Louis Cardinals) and ‘ace’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto (Orix Buffaloes), This is because “56 homers” Munetaka Murakami (Yakult Swallows) and “Perfect Game” Rocky Sasaki (Chiba Lotte Marines) joined to form the strongest force ever.

According to ‘Full Count’, Darvish, who attended the San Diego Fan Fest, said, “I don’t know when they will join (the national team), but there are not only Ohtani but also Sasaki and other players who have not played together. I am happy that everyone can play together 먹튀검증.” He expressed his feelings about joining.

Unlike other major leaguers, Darvish joins the Japanese national team from the first day of camp in Miyazaki. Darvish added, “It wasn’t a difficult decision for me. The hardest thing was for the San Diego club to allow it.”

Darvish was happy to attend the national team for the first time in a long time, but on the other hand, he could not hide the burden of excessive interest from the media and fans. “I’m not going to war,” Darvish said.

Continuing, Darvish said, “We are the best Japanese players to play the baseball we love and to win. I think we are the All-Stars of All-Stars.” I don’t want to run with the mindset that I can’t go back to Japan. I hope (the players) don’t mind.”
