“It would have been difficult even for me to stand at bat” Lee Seung-yeop, 20-year-old left-handed fireballer Blitz Pil Seung-jo selected
The outline of Doosan Bears Pil Seung-jo has been revealed.
Doosan boasted solidity in 3rd place with an average ERA of 4.06 in the entire league in the 2021 season. But last season, it collapsed without a hitch. It fell to ninth place with an ERA of 4.82.
Doosan, which started off as Lee Seung-yeop this season, has been running with the goal of rebuilding the mound. First of all, Jeong Cheol-won in the 8th episode and Hong Geon-hee in the 9th episode are confirmed.
The only thing left to do was to perfect Pil Seung-jo. Even in director Lee Seung-yeop’s head, the idea came to some extent.
Director Lee Seung-yeop explained, “Jeong Cheol-won안전놀이터 will finish the 8th episode, and Hong Kun-hee will finish the 9th episode. I think Lee Byung-hun, Park Chi-guk, Lee Hyung-beom, and Kim Myung-shin will enter in front of him.”
Coach Lee Seung-yeop, who had chosen to find a left-handed bullpen before going to spring camp, finally found a pitcher. Lee Byung-hun (20), the only left-hander, stands out.
Lee Byung-hun is a left-handed fireballer who graduated from Seoul High School and joined in the first nomination in 2022. He had already undergone Tommy John surgery in August 2021 and was in rehab. Doosan was selected after thoroughly looking at the future. In his high school days, he recorded a fastball in the early 150km range, and even after returning, he is easily recording speeds in the late 140km range.
In 9 games in the 2022 season, he got a taste of his professionalism with an earned run average of 3.60. And he got on the spring camp roster and trained hard in Australia.
In particular, Koo Dae-seong (54), who visited the Doosan camp, also received favorable reviews. At the time, Koo Dae-seong praised him, saying, “I can see why his pitching is good.”
Head coach Lee Seung-yeop, who selected Lee Byung-hun as a candidate for the Pilseung-gye Tujo since the camp, continues to test even in the demonstration game. He is recording an average earned run average of 3.86 in 4⅔ innings, 3 strikeouts, 4 walks and 2 runs in 6 demonstration games.
Manager Lee Seung-yeop said, “The pitch is good, and it’s not a pitch that batters can easily capture. Deception is good. It must have been difficult for me to stand at bat.” The angle at which the ball curves and comes in is good,” he praised. He then gave the task, saying, “If you can throw a lot of strikes, it will be a great power for the team.”
