Outfielder Kyle Tucker (26), who led the Houston Astros to win the World Series last year, lost in salary adjustment for the 2023 season.

Tucker was defeated by the Houston team at the Salary Adjustment Committee held in Florida on the 10th (Korean time), and received $5 million (approximately 6.31 billion won) as an annual salary for the 2023 season.

Tucker, who stepped on the major league stage in 2018, was eligible for salary adjustment for the first time after last year’s season.

He played in 150 regular season games last year, batting average of 0.257, 140 hits, 30 home runs, 107 RBIs, 71 runs, and an OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) of 0.808, and won the Gold Glove. He also helped his team win the World Series by hitting two home runs and driving in five runs.

Tucker, who put this spoils at the forefront, asked for $7.5 million (about 9.465 billion won) as an annual salary for the 2023 season, but the Houston club offered $5 million. He showed a difference of 2.5 million dollars (approximately 먹튀검증3.155 billion won), which was the highest amount difference among players who adjusted his salary this time.

Afterwards, the two sides could not reach an agreement on the contract and eventually went through the salary adjustment process, but the salary adjustment committee sided with the Houston club.
